A word to the wise:

In 1955, during Hurricane Janet, a building sign from an airport in Grenada was blown away and later found on a neighboring island.

No one will be happy or appreciate seeing a TV reporter, doing a live report in the high wind of a hurricane get hit or impaled by flying debris that was picked up miles away.

The unlikelihood of this happening is no reason to think a small object entering the side of your head will not change your life forever. Be smart, protect yourself.

These are some items you should collect and have with you during a hurricane;
A flash light with new fresh batteries,
Canned or packaged foods and drinks,
Ziploc bags with Band-Aid, gauze, cotton swabs and other emergency medical items,
A new clean shower curtain plastic liner, could shelter you from the rain if your roof starts leaking,
Your cell phone, but keep it dry,
