Windows 2000, Setup New Dialup Internet Connection

Windows 2000 Professional, Make a new dial-up connection

The Windows 2000 computer must have a modem installed with the correct drivers for it to establish a connection to the Internet. To make any networking changes, the Windows 2000 Professional CD may be required.

Click on "Make a New Connection" to begin the walk-through. The 'Next or Back' buttons can also be used.

Special Note for error 691;
If you have to retype the password because of a 691 error message, hit the backspace key 3 times in the empty password box before starting to type the password.

This seems to clear a gap that may have developed to the left of the first character. Some times you have to do the username box also.

Click Properties for Dialer Properties,
Click Cancel to return to the desktop Shortcut,
Click Dial for the Top of Page.
