Make sure to LEAVE the check in all 3 boxes on the
left and do Windows Update as soon as possible to protect the computer
from Worms and Viruses.

Make sure to continue and uncheck the LCP Extensions box in the Properties of the Dialer before trying to connect.

| Click Properties to continue the setup until you uncheck the LCP Extensions Box. |

You can dial now or you can continue to the 'Connection Properties' lower down.

After turning on or off the firewall, close Network and Dialup Connections. |

(1) open the Connect window using the shortcut icon on the desktop and clicking Properties, then the Advanced tab and add or removing the check-mark,or
(2) you can click Start, Control Panel, click Switch to Classic View to see all the icons, open Network Connections, then right-click the icon of the dial-up you want to use and choose Properties and click on the Advanced tab, then add or remove the check-mark by clicking on it.

New Dial-up To get back to the 'Connect to' box click the 'Cancel' button. |
Special Note for error 691;
If you have to retype the username or password because of a 691 error message,
clear the box, hit the backspace key 3 times in the empty username or password
box before starting to type the username or password.
This usually works, if not, contact you ISP (Internet Service Provider).
This seems to clear a gap that may have developed to the left of the first
character. Some times you have to do the username box also.
If you did not connect, contact you ISP (Internet Service Provider).
